We’ve launched a range of cards for Father’s Day which falls on 20 June. There are four cards in the range – all with images of rural settings denoting peace and tranquility.

Each card contains prayers for fathers, and includes a remembrance in a Triduum of Masses that will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, Western Road, Cork at 10am on 20-22 June. These Masses will be offered to honour fathers – living and deceased. In addition to a Prayer for My Father, the card also contains a Prayer for All Fathers.

Fr. Michael O’Connell, Director of the MSC Mission Support Centre said that, in launching a range of Special Occasion Cards, it was felt appropriate to recognize the very important role that fathers play in the lives of their children. “The card is a spiritual gift that can be used to convey one’s personal appreciation for the devotion and love shown by a father to his family, and the burdens and worries sometimes carried”. Donations from the cards support MSC missionaries in developing countries and help to build up the church there.
