Launch of Centenary Celebrations
Image2009 is the centenary of the arrival of MSCs in Ireland. It is appropriate that the formal launch of the Centenary Celebrations will take place on Tuesday, 6 January at 7.30pm in Sacred Heart Church, Western Road, Cork which was the site of the first MSC house in Ireland in 1909.

The guest speakers for the occasion will be Mr. Pat Cox, former President of the European Parliament, and Fr. Michael Curran, msc who is the immediate past Superior General of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. They will be joined by Bishop John Buckley, Bishop of Cork and Ross, by Fr. Pat Courtney, msc, Irish Provincial Leader, and by a number of other religious leaders in the area.  Choral entertainment will be provided by the Waterford and Omagh Peace Choir who will be making their first appearance in Cork.
