ImageOn Friday 5th December Mater Dei Institute, Dublin, hosted the first Memorial Lecture in honour of the late Dr Michael Maher MSC.  The Lecture was held in association with the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart.

Fr Michael's sudden death on November 1st last year shocked all his fellow MSCs and the Mater Dei community. Michael had been a long time member of the lecturing staff at Mater Dei and an inspiring teacher of Scripture.

The first memorial lecture was given by Dr. Philip Alexander, Professor of post-Biblical Jewish Studies in the University of Manchester. The title of his lecture was, "Judaism and Christianity: Reflections on the Parting of the Ways and the Prospects for Future Dialogue".
