Sacred Heart Parish Simon Spring Clean

Spring cleaning was in the air in Sacred Heart Parish, Western Road last weekend. Members of the Outreach Group were busy collecting and packing second hand clothes to support the work of the Cork Simon Community.

Cork Simon Community’s mission is to work in solidarity with men and women who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless, offering housing and support in their journey back to independent or supported living and campaigning for a society without homelessness. One of the basic challenges they face are access to clean, presentable clothes, which is especially important for those going for job interviews.

Thanks to the generous support of the parish and the work of the Outreach team dozens of bags of clothes were sent to the Simon Shelter. Well done all round!
